While the Sir Knights are engaged in their Fall Harvest meeting, the Ladies will be packing items to send to our troops overseas. We are once again working with The Desert Angel, a non-profit organization that sends much-needed items to those serving in the armed services overseas. Listed below is a list of the items needed. If you are able to bring any of these items it would be greatly appreciated.

• Food and drinks:
  • Single serving snacks - nuts, beef jerky, candy that doesn’t melt, protein bars, Granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, dried fruits, trail mix, small bag popcorn, peanut butter packets, etc.
  • Easy open, single serving cans of meats, tuna, ravioli, etc.
  • Items that DO NOT need to be heated up (like ramen, soups, chilis and some canned meats) as most service members DO NOT have access to a microwave
  • Electrolyte drink packets (Gatorade, Powerade, etc.)
• Health and personal hygiene:
  • Bug spray, but NO AEROSOLS (malaria is a real threat overseas)
  • Sunscreen, SPf 25 or higher (again, NO AEROSOLS)
  • Foot powder
  • Feminine hygiene products (these are in great demand and extremely needed)
  • Baby wipes or equivalent (like Dude Wipes)
  • Toothpaste, floss and mouthwash
  • Deodorant and antiperspirant (again, NO AEROSOLS)
• Religious items (there are no atheists in fox holes):
  • Rosaries
  • Small Bibles
• Other:
  • Hand written letters of THANKS
  • Postage Stamps

If anyone knows of any active military personnel to which one of these boxes can get sent please bring their address and they will receive a box from us. Too many times we hear that this was the case but we did not have an address to which a box can be sent. Also, they would love a hand written note from us showing them our appreciation for their service. Please pass this along!!!
